How The Open Mic
Works
We designed Thursday Night! Live to be warm, respectful, and stress-free for both first-timers and seasoned storytellers. Follow these three simple steps to take your spot.
1. Submit Early
Fill out our digital sign-up form starting the Thursday before at 8:00 AM. We reserve only 6 pre-registered spots per evening to keep stage times generous and to give the band a chance to learn the tune if you'd like to play with us!
2. Confirm Details
Receive your direct confirmation within minutes with your estimated set window, sound guidelines, and host introduction notes.
3. Show Up & Play
Check in with the stage host by 15 minutes before the show starts. Grab some food, tune up backstage, and share your voice with an attentive, cheering room.
COMMUNITY STANDARDS
What to Expect On Stage
Clear expectations protect the creative energy of our space. Here are the four foundational house policies every artist agrees to.
1 Song or 5 Mins
Each registered performer is granted one full song or up to 5 minutes maximum stage time so our evening stays crisp, equitable, and on schedule.
Family-Friendly
Our community includes listeners of all ages. We kindly require that lyrics, monologues, and comedic content remain respectful and PG.
Bring Instrument
We provide two quality vocal mics and direct DI boxes. Bring your own instrument!
Waitlist Policy
If online registration is full, come anyway. Walk-in waitlist signups open at the door at 6:30 PM, with unclaimed slots released promptly at 7:00 PM.

Is there any cost or fee to perform?
Never. Thursday Night! Live is 100% free for musicians, poets, and storytellers. We believe in accessible community arts without pay-to-play barriers or ticket quotas.
Can I bring and play backing tracks?
We REALLY prefer you play with our backing band of professional musicians- that's what we are here for and we are great at what we do! Signing up a week in advance makes it so we can play our best with you!
What audio gear does the house PA include?
We provide a complete sound setup: two dynamic vocal mics on boom stands, two direct input (DI) boxes for acoustic-electric guitars or keyboards, stage monitors, and an iPad-controlled house mixer.
How often can I claim a performance slot?
To give every local voice stage time, performers are welcome to sign up once a month. If a Thursday has an open spot past 6 PM the day of, standbys are always welcome to jump in.
What happens if I cannot make my reserved slot?
Life happens! Just notify us via email or text by 4:00 PM on Thursday so we can open your spot to a musician on the standby waitlist. No penalties or hard feelings.
Are full drum kits or multi-piece electric bands supported?
Yup, given that we will have full bands perform after the open-mic, your band could totally come play a tune! Just bring your instruments (Except the drums)
